Sterile Transport swabs with cap in polyethylene, inserted in tube in polypropylene Ø 13x150mm with plastic shaft.
Swab is available dry or with various transport media: Amies or Amies with charcoal, Cary Blair gel and Stuart or Stuart with charcoal.
Sterilized by Gamma radiation
Packed in single peel pouch.
Colour coded stopper for easier identification

Amies:
The Amies medium allows good conservation of beta-hemolytic streptococcus, intestinal pathogenic and S.aureus for over three days, of N.gonorrhoeae for 24hours of B. pertussis and Fusobacterium for 48-72hours.

Amies with charcoal:
The amies with charcoal medium allows good conservation of beta-hemolytic streptococci, intestinal pathogenic and S.aureus for over improves the survival of Neisseria gonorrhoeae and of the intestinal pathogenic bacteria neutralizing the toxic metabolic products.

Cary Blair Medium :
Cary Blair Medium is used in the collection, transportation and preservation of enteric pathogens in the field of epidemiological investigation, especially Campylobacter jejuni, Vibrio cholerae, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Salmonella and Shigella.

Stuart:
Stuart medium preparation was designed to preserve Neisseriae Gonorrheae and Trichomonas Vaginalis without permitting their proliferation. The Stuart medium has been swown to be suitable for transporting Haemophilus Influentiae, streptococcus Pyogenes, Corynebacterium Diphteriae, Enterobacteria and Bacteria of the respiratory tract as well. Bacteria can survive up to 72hours.

Stuart with charcoal:
Stuart with charcoal recommended for aerobic, faculative anaerobic, fastidious aerobic and anaerobic bacteria possibly exit in the wound,nose throat, nasopharyngeal, vagina or urogenital and skin specimens, the charcoal on the media neutralises inhibitors and bacterial toxins, and prolong the viability of pathogenic organisms In all cases, specimens should be cultivated as soon as possible or stored in the refrigerator if delay in unavoidable.
